Why use Electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only medically proven method of permanent hair removal.

Electrolysis treatment is not restricted to certain hair and skin colours.

The most effective areas for electrolysis treatment are usually facial areas like the upper lip, chin, and cheeks. Unlike laser hair removal, electrolysis can be used on lighter coloured hair or on people with darker skin complexions.

How does it work?

Thermolysis/Diathermy

This epilation technique produces heat, using a high frequency, short wave diathermy current to cauterise the hair at the base of the follicle. This current is channelled through a very fine needle to the desired area; the heat is discharged for 1-3 seconds. More than one treatment will be necessary due to the fact that hair follicles have a specific hair growth cycle.

Hair grows in different stages: growing, resting and shedding. Because all of the hair isn't on the same stage at any given time, multiple sessions are needed to get the hair in the growth phase for electrolysis hair removal to be most effective.

Is Electrolysis painful?

Everyone has their own tolerance of pain. Electrolysis has been likened to a stinging and pricking sensation, and each follicle has to go through it. For individuals more sensitive to the process, skin numbing creams can be used to reduce the amount of discomfort.

How long will it take?

Firstly, a consultation is required for every new client, which will last approximately 30 minutes and is free of charge.

Most people should expect to have multiple sessions of electrolysis treatments until the desired results are achieved. You will be advised at your free consultation how long the treatment will take.

Please note that 24 hours is required to cancel or re-schedule appointments, otherwise a 50% charge will be incurred. No shows will incur a 100% charge for the treatment.
